Astigarraga, Spain 11–12 July 2025

ESPORG – The European Secure Parking Organisation proudly launched the first Wellbeing Event under the European Wellbeing Initiative, hosted at MOWIZ TRUCK Astigarraga, in partnership with BIDEGI Gipuzkoako Azpiegituren Agentzia – Agencia Guipuzcoana de Infraestructuras SA– our first official Wellbeing Ambassadors.

The event is part of the campaign “Drive Safe, Park Safe, Work Safe, Live Well”, which promotes the holistic wellbeing of drivers in the transport industry, underlining the crucial link between safe driving, secure parking and healthy working and rest conditions.

A Pan-European Campaign to improve Drivers’ Wellbeing

Opening the event, Dirk Penasse, General Manager of ESPORG, emphasized:

“Improving drivers’ wellbeing is not just a moral responsibility—it’s a strategic priority for the future of European road transport. Safe and secure truck parking areas, like our member MOWIZ TRUCK, play a vital role in this effort. ESPORG launched the Wellbeing Campaign this year with the support of the European Commission, and we are proud to see a growing number of signatories joining us.”

Druselia Betea, Head of the European Wellbeing Initiative, said:

“As we continue our efforts to enhance the wellbeing of professional drivers, it is crucial to emphasize the importance of both physical and mental health. A healthy driver is a safe driver, and a well-rested driver is key to road safety. Investing in prevention not only enhances job satisfaction and morale but also significantly contributes to driver retention and improved social conditions within the sector.

By prioritizing the health and wellbeing of our drivers, we not only elevate their quality of life but also positively impact the image of our industry”.

A Strong, United Community for Driver Wellbeing

The Wellbeing event hosted by mowiz TRUCK in Astigarraga was a great success during two inspiring days filled with workshops, panel discussions, and networking opportunities. The atmosphere was charged with collaboration and enthusiasm, bringing together a wide range of stakeholders: professional drivers, logistics associations, authorities, parking operators, transport and logistics companies, technology innovators and health experts —all committed to improving working and rest conditions for professional drivers.

Participants had the opportunity to visit the Wellbeing Area and attend the inauguration of a vegetable garden, symbolizing care for both people and the environment. MOWIZ TRUCK Astigarraga was recognized as the winner of the 2025 Green Truck Parking Management Award, showcasing excellence in combining sustainability with secure infrastructure.
