Registration is now open for the ESPORG Annual Conference 2026, an inspiring high-level event dedicated to recognising excellence in truck parking and shaping the parking infrastructure of the future.
On 4 March 2026, policymakers, industry leaders and key stakeholders from across Europe will gather in Brussels for the ESPORG Annual Conference, hosted at the European Commission’s Borschette Building. Join us for forward-looking discussions on the evolution of truck parking into essential service hubs within the logistics chain, alongside engaging expert panels on drivers’ wellbeing and military mobility.
ESPORG – the European Secure Parking Organisation is the leading voice of European parking operators, dedicated to advancing safety, security, sustainability and service quality in truck parking areas across Europe. For more than 15 years, ESPORG has worked closely with the European Commission and EU institutions to develop EU parking standards, support the certification and funding of secure parking infrastructure, promote drivers’ wellbeing and contribute to a more resilient, efficient and sustainable transport and logistics sector.
A High-Level Platform for Policy and Industry Dialogue
Organised annually in Brussels, the ESPORG Annual Conference brings together representatives from EU institutions, national authorities, parking operators, transport and logistics companies, shippers and social partners.
For the 2026 edition, more than 200 participants are expected, reflecting the growing strategic importance of secure truck parking within EU transport policy, security, resilience and sustainability agendas.
Key Conference Highlights
High-Level Keynote – European Commission
The conference will open with a keynote address from the European Commission, focusing on sustainable transport and EU priorities. This keynote will set the framework for in-depth discussions on the future of truck parking and logistics infrastructure across Europe.
A recent European Commission report, informed by a comprehensive ESPORG study, confirms the urgent need to expand the European Safe and Secure Parking Area (SSPA) network, in line with TEN-T corridor requirements and EU mobility objectives.
The report highlights the serious challenges faced by transport operators and professional drivers due to the shortage of secure parking, directly affecting security, safety and drivers’ wellbeing, aggravating the driver shortage and undermining the efficiency of logistics chains.
Panel on Military Mobility
Secure truck parking and roadside rest areas play a vital role in both civilian and military mobility. A dedicated high-level panel will explore the strategic importance of parking infrastructure for military logistics, resilience and preparedness, bringing together representatives from EU institutions, the European Commission, the European Parliament and NATO.
Panel on Drivers’ Wellbeing
Drivers remain at the heart of Europe’s transport system. This session will focus on drivers’ wellbeing, bringing together the European Commission, parking operators and social partners to address key topics for drivers’ wellbeing – the working conditions, safety, comfort and social aspects, and to highlight the critical role that high-quality parking facilities play in supporting professional drivers, tackling Europe’s acute driver shortage.
Excellence in Truck Parking Awards
A highlight of the conference will be the Excellence in Truck Parking Awards, celebrating outstanding achievements and best practices across the sector:
- Green Truck Parking Management Award – recognising operators committed to environmental sustainability and eco-friendly practices
- Home Away from Home Award – celebrating facilities that prioritise drivers’ wellbeing, comfort and quality of services
- Best Truck Parking Award – recognising overall excellence in truck parking operations
These awards showcase concrete achievements and best practices that set benchmarks for the parking of the future.
