The European Secure Parking Organisation (ESPORG) and 45 leading transport associations of Europe urge EU Member States and the European Commission to uphold and reinforce a dedicated European transport funding instrument in the future EU budget.

Recognizing transport as the backbone of the EU economy, the signatories emphasize the critical need for stable and sufficient funding to support infrastructure, sustainability and innovation in the transport sector instead of redirecting a large majority of the European transport funding towards individual national agendas.

“Without transport, more than 742 million European citizens would miss essential items for their daily life. It is vital to have devoted funds to transport in order to ensure the necessary growth of the sector and the continued prosperity of the European economy. Without the transport industry, we cannot function. We must uphold funding and show that transport is indeed a priority for the EU,” says ESPORG General Manager Dirk Penasse.
