The newly inaugurated TIP Secure Truck Parking Isoparc Sorigny, located just south of Tours along the busy A10 motorway, is setting a new benchmark for drivers’ wellbeing and green parking for heavy goods vehicle (HGV). It meets the growing need for secure parking for drivers travelling along the Atlantic corridor between northern Europe and the Iberian Peninsula.

“TIP Isoparc Sorigny perfectly reflects our shared goal of raising drivers’ wellbeing and promoting green standards for parkings across the continent—providing safer, greener, and more comfortable facilities for drivers,” said Dirk Penasse, General Manager of ESPORG. “Such projects show what can be achieved when security, sustainability, and respect for drivers come together.”

Security and Sustainability Hand in Hand

Following its acquisition in June 2024, TIP Isoparc Sorigny was partially operational and had 146 spaces. The expansion work has increased this capacity to 175 spaces, while incorporating high-level security infrastructure that meets EU Gold specifications. In addition, a security guard is on duty 24/7, contributing to on-site security and welcoming drivers.

Beyond security, the site is fully aligned with TIP’s energy transition strategy. Most parking spaces are covered by photovoltaic shade structures, providing renewable energy, while LNG and hydrogen refuelling stations are available nearby. Electric truck charging stations and power sockets for refrigerated units are also being integrated, reinforcing the site’s commitment to sustainability and innovation.

Comfort and Well-being for Drivers

TIP Isoparc Sorigny goes beyond safety to focus on driver comfort and quality of life. The facility offers a broad range of premium amenities, ensuring drivers can rest, recharge, and refresh in the best possible conditions:

  • Modern sanitary facilities with free showers and toilets. A separate area is reserved for women
  • Lounge area with TV
  • Snack and drink vending machines
  • Free outdoor fitness area
  • Laundromat
  • Free Wi-Fi throughout the site

Together, these features transform Sorigny into not just a place to park, but a genuine rest and recovery hub for Europe’s professional drivers.

Secure Parking: A Cornerstone of Safer Logistics

Secure parking for heavy goods vehicles is not just a convenience, but a key element of the modern logistics chain. It has multiple benefits:

  • Increased security against theft of goods, a major issue for transport companies and their customers.
  • Increasing the availability of parking for heavy goods vehicles and ensuring greater safety for all road users.
  • Improving the quality of rest for drivers thanks to suitable and comfortable facilities, which are essential for complying with statutory break times.
  • Promoting drivers’ well-being by providing access to sports facilities that allow them to stay active during their rest periods.
  • Supporting and promoting the evolution of the profession: by incorporating dedicated and safe spaces for all, particularly for women, these facilities contribute to the modernisation of the driving profession.

A Model for the Future

Frédéric Notté, Vice-President of TIP’s Mediterranean region, said:

‘With this new site, TIP is confirming its commitment to bringing the reception of lorry drivers up to European standards,’. “Following the success of the Delta Park car park in Dourges [EU Parking Gold], TIP is strengthening its territorial network with facilities designed for comfort, safety and sustainability.
