At this year’s ESPORG Conference, we spoke with Renato Berto, CEO and Vice President of the Parking Division at CAME PARKARE, a global leader in automation, control and smart parking solutions. CAME is an Italian multinational headquartered in Treviso, with over 50 years of history and a presence in more than 110 countries. Over the past decade, the company has significantly expanded its focus on parking and mobility solutions.
“I started with CAME more than 16 years ago,” Renato Berto shares. “I started in France, where I stayed for five years, and then moved to Spain when CAME acquired the company that is today CAME Parkare.”
CAME PARKARE is a leading company in the automation, control, management, distribution and subsequent maintenance and updating of systems and equipment for improving urban mobility – including Parking management systems and equipment (pay stations, rising arm barriers, guidance systems, automatic number plate recognition systems, central control units, etc.).
Today, CAME’s parking division operates across Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East, delivering solutions that go far beyond traditional parking infrastructure.
From parking spaces to mobility hubs
One of the key themes highlighted by Renato Berto is the transformation of parking itself.
“In the past, parking was just a logistical space where you left your car,” he explains. “Today, in a smart city, parking facilities are strategic hubs. They are the starting and ending points of a journey within the city.”
This shift reflects broader changes in urban mobility, driven by digitalisation, sustainability goals, and evolving user expectations. Parking is no longer isolated infrastructure—it is becoming an integrated part of the mobility ecosystem.
Joining ESPORG: a shared focus on human-centric solutions
CAME’s decision to join ESPORG comes at a pivotal moment for both the company and the sector. CAME is now ready to expand its expertise into the truck parking segment—an area where ESPORG has established itself as a key reference point in Europe.
“What we’ve understood is that ESPORG is not just about truck parking,” he says. “It’s about taking care of drivers, their wellbeing, and the needs of transport companies. That’s something we strongly relate to.”
For Renato Berto, the alignment between CAME and ESPORG goes beyond technology.
“At CAME, we always say we are not only about technology—we are about people,” he explains. “And I see the same philosophy in ESPORG’s work.”
This shared focus on human-centric solutions is particularly relevant in the context of professional drivers, whose working conditions, safety, and comfort are increasingly recognised as critical factors in the efficiency of the entire transport chain.
“ESPORG can help us identify where to focus our efforts in the coming years. We are living in a time of rapid technological change, and it is essential to listen to the real needs of the sector.
We are here to learn, to contribute our expertise, and to support ESPORG’s high ambitions. We are proud to become an official partner.” concluded Renato Berto.
ESPORG warmly welcomes CAME PARKARE to our growing community. Together, we look forward to shaping the future of truck parking solutions for smarter mobility. For more information: info@esporg.eu
