Security has become one of the major challenges facing road transport in Europe.

In this context, secure parking areas have emerged as key infrastructure for drivers and transport companies alike.

Committed to meeting this need, Andamur—a company providing comprehensive services for transport professionals and an active member of ESPORG—has developed a network of secure parking facilities designed to guarantee the full protection of both drivers and their cargo, positioning itself as one of the leading players in the sector across Europe.

Andamur’s Network of Secure Parking Areas

Last year, the Murcia-based company obtained Gold certification under the European SSTPA (Safe and Secure Truck Parking Areas) standard for its service areas at Andamur Guarromán, Andamur La Junquera, and Andamur San Román II. This distinction reinforces its role as a key contributor to improving safety in professional transport.

Key safety features available at these secure parking facilities include 24/7 CCTV surveillance with no blind spots; access control via ticket or license plate recognition; pedestrian access gates with ticket readers; perimeter fencing over two meters high with anti-climb systems; and access barriers equipped with skirts and license plate recognition technology.

Strategic Locations with Comprehensive Services

In addition to these certifications, other important features make these rest areas a reliable choice for transport professionals:

Andamur La Junquera is located at one of the most important border crossings between Spain and France. It is a key hub for international transport and has recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.

Since its opening, Andamur La Junquera has evolved to offer a wide range of services specifically designed to meet the needs of drivers on the road and support their overall well-being. In addition to its secure parking area (with capacity for 105 trucks), it offers a full range of services including fast service fueling (17 multi-product lanes), a restaurant, shop, supermarket, laundry facilities, showers, and a free gym equipped with fitness and strength-training machines.

Meanwhile, Andamur Guarromán, located in Jaén, sits on one of the main transport corridors in Spain, serving as a strategic hub and a key stop for transport operators traveling to or from Andalusia. It is located next to the A-4 motorway (Autovía de Andalucía), one of Spain’s six main radial highways, part of the European E-5 route connecting central Spain with the south.

Its secure parking area can accommodate 67 trucks and 92 cars, and offers multi-energy services, supplying gas, electricity, and conventional fuel. It also features a wide range of amenities, including a café, restaurant, and 24-hour showers.

In northern Spain, Andamur San Román II (opened last year) is located just 100 meters from the San Román Service Area, along the strategic route connecting the Basque Country with France.

One of its most notable features is that this service area has strengthened operational capacity in Álava by tripling fuel supply in the area. Its 16 multi-product fueling lanes, together with those at San Román I, total 23 fueling points, enabling simultaneous refueling and significantly reducing waiting times.

In addition, San Román II includes secure parking for 100 trucks and shares services with Andamur San Román such as bicycle parking, a free gym, hotel, restaurant, shop, and laundry facilities.

These three service areas, located at key points along major logistics corridors across Spain, consolidate Andamur’s position as a benchmark in security and a trusted choice for transport professionals operating on European routes.

Comprehensive Protection

In line with the importance of safety on the road, the company views security as a strategic and cross-cutting priority, offering comprehensive solutions that also address protection against fraud in transactions.

Andamur has developed its anti-fraud system, airCODE, which provides full security during fuel transactions, preventing fraud in fuel supply. This is complemented by a station lock/unlock feature by card and country, allowing fleet managers to remotely decide where their vehicles can refuel—helping reduce risks and enhance safety on international routes.

This solution is integrated into the upgraded Andamur Connect platform, which now offers more intuitive navigation, enhanced security, improved user management, and quicker access to consumption data, invoices, cards, contracts, and transit records. This update responds to the growing need within the sector for reliable, fast digital environments capable of centralizing operational management.

Additionally, Andamur cards allow for the setting of customized limits and real-time alerts, adding an extra layer of protection against potential fraud.

All of this reflects Andamur’s approach to service areas as spaces where transport professionals can rest and optimize their routes, with services designed to support their overall well-being.
