On 14 and 15 October 2026, Green Logistics Expo brought together companies, institutions and professionals in Padova to discuss the future of logistics, freight transport and supply chain infrastructure. The event provided a platform for exchanging ideas on the challenges facing the sector, from sustainability and digitalisation to infrastructure development.

For ESPORG, the exhibition was an opportunity to exhcange with parking operators and other industry stakeholders, and highlight the increasingly important role of secure truck parking in the European transport network.

Discussing Challenges and Opportunities with Italian Operators

During the event, ESPORG presented its work to support the development of secure, safe and high-quality truck parking across Europe, with particular attention to the EU Parking Standard.

A dedicated discussion brought together professionals from across the Italian truck parking and transport infrastructure sector: Pier Giovanni Pisani representing A4 Trading, Truck Park Brescia Est, Luca Arosio from Milano Serravalle, Andrea Campagna fromTruck Village Colleferro, Simone Pacciardi from AdSP del Mar Ligure and Lorenzo Pighi from DEKRA Italia.

The exchange provided an opportunity to discuss the importance of certified parking areas, the challenges involved in developing and managing parking facilities, and the role of common European standards in improving security and service quality. Bringing together perspectives from parking operators and technical experts also helped highlight the different points of views and perspectives concerning the development and improvements of truck parking facilities.

ESPORG took the occasion to also present its new Financing and Funding Toolbox, launched through the EU Parking Academy. The course provides practical guidance for investors, developers, parking operators, consultants and public authorities on the different stages of a parking project.

The goal of the course is to help stakeholders better understand the financial and practical considerations involved in bringing new truck parking projects to life, supporting the development of the infrastructure required by the European transport sector.

The exchanges also touched on other industry priorities, such as the driver wellbeing, supported by ESPORG through the wellbeing campaign, EWELLIN. The iniative promoting the physical health and overall wellbeing of professional drivers by encouraging access to health checks, healthy lifestyle initiatives and wellbeing activities at truck parking areas. It reflects ESPORGโ€™s commitment to making environments where drivers can take care of themselves.

Strengthening Cooperation Across the Sector

ESPORGโ€™s participation in Green Logistics Expo provided a valuable opportunity to connect with parking operators, interporti and partners from Italy. The discussions reinforced the importance of collaboration between industry stakeholders in addressing Europe’s truck parking needs and supporting the development of sustainable infrastructure.

ESPORG would like to thank the organisers of Green Logistics Expo, Studio Ballarin and all the professionals who took part in the discussions in Padova.
