Located at the A10 / A83 junct ion in Deux-Sèvres, the parking combines round-the-clock security, number-plate recognition access and comforts made for drivers at rest.
LA CRÈCHE (Deux-Sèvres), France, 28 October 2026 – The Securit Park secure truck parking was officially inaugurated on 28 October 2026 in La Crèche, with the Prefecture of Deux-Sèvres and OTRE Poitou-Charentes / Gironde. The ceremony, followed by a visit of the site and its Freeflow access system, took place during the Wellbeing Days organised by the European Wellbeing Initiative (EWellIn), powered by ESPORG, together with Trucks’nB, the operator of Securit Park.
Securit Park, which presents itself as the first secure parking area for trucks in the centre-west of France, sits at Place François Quesnay, Centre Routier, in La Crèche, by A83 Exit 11 (Niort-Est), at the A10 / A83 junction.
Why secure parking matters
Safe places to stop are still too few across Europe. A European Commission study carried out with ESPORG estimates a current gap of 390,057 safe and secure parking spaces, equivalent to 3,250 parking areas, growing to 483,000 spaces, or 4,025 certified safe and secure parking areas, by 2040.
EU rules point the way:
- Since the Mobility Package, drivers cannot take their regular weekly rest in the vehicle.
- The TEN-T Regulation (EU) 2024/1679 asks Member States to develop certified safe and secure parking areas along the core and extended core network by 31 December 2040, with an average maximum distance of 150 km between two of them.
- Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/1012 sets the EU standard for safe and secure parking areas, with four security levels (bronze, silver, gold and platinum) and minimum services such as separate toilets and showers for women and men, food and drinks around the clock and free internet.
For drivers, the stakes are concrete: according to the ESPORG Study 2025, only 9% feel safe or very safe at European parking areas, and 78% have faced safety concerns or dangerous situations while their vehicle is parked.
A parking designed around the people who use it
In her welcome speech, Virginie Stien, Managing Director of Trucks’nB & Securit Park, presented how a parking designed around its users can turn a routine break into real time to recharge. At Securit Park, drivers find:
- A guard on site around the clock and video surveillance, so drivers know their truck and cargo are watched while they rest.
- Freeflow access by number-plate recognition: no ticket, no waiting at the gate after a long drive.
- Online booking and payment through Trucks’nB, so a driver knows where the day will end and can shorten the search for a place to stop.
- Showers and a rest room with TV.
- Free coffee, free bikes and free laundry after a long stop (after 10 hours), and free hot drinks and soup all year.
Secure parking can help reduce stress and improve sleep, and comforts like these help drivers recharge body and mind. Trucks’nB and Axxès also offer drivers the option of booking secure truck parks with Trucks’nB and paying with the Axxès toll box, linking the road and the rest stop.
A Wellbeing Ambassador
The same morning, Securit Park received the Wellbeing Ambassador certificate, awarded to every host of Wellbeing Days, and partners signed the Wellbeing Pledge, a free and voluntary commitment to put driver wellbeing first (wellbeingpledge.eu). Trucks’nB was among the first signatories of the Pledge.
During the Wellbeing Days, Securit Park also offered drivers free hot drinks, cakes and goodies at the Drivers’ Wellbeing Corner, where Wellbeing Check-Ups, surveys and gentle sports sessions were held on 27 and 28 October.
