ESPORG and 43 other European transport organisations, representing the key spectrum of Europe’s transport network, are again joining forces in a campaign to urge the Council and the European Parliament to increase the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) budget for transport in the upcoming review of the Multi-Annual Financial Framework.

The TEN-T regulation was recently adapted to include the presence of a certified safe and secure parking area every 150 km on the TEN-T Core Network. To ensure the development and presence of secure parking areas, funding such as the Connecting Europe Facility financing is crucial. We cannot hope to bridge the deficit of 300,000 parking areas in Europe nor can we hope to attract the 600,000 drivers missing in Europe without the necessary EU support.
