Brussels, 22 June 2026: ESPORG launches the competition for the Excellence in Truck Parking Award 2027. The award will recognise service excellence across the industry, with drivers also invited to vote and select their preferred parking.

Today, ESPORG, the European Secure Truck Parking Organisation, with its public and private partners from the European Commission, IRU, CLECAT, ESC, UETR, TVM, DEKRA, ABVV-BTB and Truckers Life ย launch the call for candidates for its 2027 Excellence in Truck Parking Award, with the objective to promote safety, security, quality, connectivity and care in providing services to professional truck drivers when using safe and secure truck parking areas.

Next to its Grand Excellence, Green Parking Management and Home Away from Home awards, to reward truck parkings with exceptional records in offering and sustaining professional driversโ€™ wellbeing, to be selected by a renowned international jury, a new opportunity will be offered to truck drivers themselves, to vote online and select the best truck parking area.

The aim of the European Truck Parking Award is to promote excellence and to help spread good practices in view of improving security and quality of services offered by truck parking operators to professional truck drivers, and, by doing so, to enhance the attractiveness and appeal of the driver profession to an increasingly diverse and wider public, including young people and women, whilst at the same time improving truck parkingsโ€™ service quality and green records and credentials.

Michael Nielsen, Chairman of ESPORG, said: โ€œWe are pleased to launch this already sixth edition of the Award, by innovating and giving drivers also a voice to vote for their own candidates, to resolutely improve our contribution to job quality and working conditions of professional lorry drivers across Europe.โ€

As a reminder, Truck House Baupaume, in France, was voted European Truck Parking of the Year 2026, whilst Truck Etape Bรฉziers, again in France, was unanimously selected winner of both the Green Truck Parking Management Award 2026 and the Home Away from Home Award.

Candidates can be small (up to 50 spaces) and large (more than 50 spaces) public and private truck parking areas, as well as intermodal logistics centres and road transport companies operating truck parking facilities. They must prepare a dossier in the English language and submit it by 31 December 2026. The winners and runners up will be unveiled at a public ceremony during ESPORG Annual Conference on 3 March 2027 in Brussels.

โ€œWe want to reward the abundance of excellence, which already exists in our business at all EU Parking standards levels โ€“ bronze, silver, gold and platinum – and incentivise others to follow, get certified and hopefully be awardedโ€, concluded Dirk Penasse, ESPORGโ€™s General Manager.
