  • Driver Shortage: With a projected need for 1.3 million drivers by 2030 and a current need of 600,000 drivers in the EU today, ESPORG’s Wellbeing Initiative, supported by the EC, focuses on attracting and retaining drivers by creating better working and resting conditions in Secure & Safe Parking Areas (SSPAs).
  • Parking Deficit: Addressing the shortage of 400,000 secure parking spots, ESPORG advocates for the 4,100 certified SSPAs required on the TEN-T network by 2040.
  • Security: Combating issues like migrant smuggling, where 270,000 individuals tried to enter illegally the Schengen Area , ESPORG promotes the use of MAC Scanners to prevent human trafficking and enhance security at truck parking facilities.

  • EU Parking Academy: Invest in your future and explore the EU Parking Academy. ESPORG is committed to raising standards in truck parking and offers comprehensive training programs to equip industry professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to excel.
  • Shaping Policy and Standards: ESPORG’s expertise informs crucial EU policy decisions. We leverage the outcomes of comprehensive studies, including MOVE/C1/2017/500 and the follow- up study MOVE/C1/SER/2023/138, to drive the adoption of the EU Parking Standard (Delegate Act 1012/2022) and influence the evolution of the TEN-T Regulation (updated in 2024 – verify official sources for the exact reference).
