Just before the annual ESPORG Conference, ESPORG hosted a two-part workshop for 75 participants regarding key topics in the logistics and transport industry.
In the first workshop, Markus Schneider, resident IT expert and Head of Data & Digitalization at ESPORG, presented in conjunction with Jan Meeremans, General Manager of Myriade. The topic of their workshop was ITS, more specifically a European Truck Parking Data Access Point, an app for drivers and the MAC Scanner Project.
Following the ITS workshop, ESPORG hosted a second session focused on Driver Wellbeing. The panel discussion and interactive session was moderated by Christy Ha, one of the spearheads of the Wellbeing Campaign and included recent data related to driver wellbeing following surveys conducted for the “Study on the availability of suitable rest facilities for professional drivers and of secured parking facilities, as well as on the development of safe and secure parking facilities in the EU”(MOVE/C1/SER/2023-138) launched by DG MOVE. The panelists included Alice Simon, Marketing Product Manager at Eurotunnel, whose truck parking area Le Truck Village won runner-up for the ESPORG Excellence in Truck Parking Award this year, Barry Lyons, Chairman of the European Professional Drivers Association (EPDA), Sven Hemelaers, propagandist for the Belgian Drivers Union (ABVV-BTB) and Druselia Betea, head of the Wellbeing Campaign.
