On May 28th, more than 70 participants from across the EU came together for our webinar focused on the future of rest facilities and secure parking for professional drivers. The event, based on the findings of the comprehensive study MOVE/C1/SER/2023-138, highlighted the current state of rest infrastructure and the pressing challenges faced by drivers on Europe’s roads.

Participants, including representatives from transport companies, driver advocacy groups, and local authorities, explored key data on the availability and adequacy of rest areas, as well as innovative solutions being proposed to enhance safety, comfort, and accessibility.

The workshop served as a valuable platform for exchange, offering a clear picture of the evolving needs of professional drivers and the collaborative efforts required to create safer and more secure rest environments. The strong turnout and active engagement underscored the urgency of the issue and the shared commitment to supporting those who play a critical role in keeping goods moving across the EU.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and contributed to shaping the future of driver wellbeing on European roads.
