Nestled at the vital crossroads of northern Italy’s motorway network, a new landmark secure and comfortable truck parking is taking shape. Northern Italy is one of Europe’s busiest freight regions, connecting the Mediterranean with the heart of the continent. Soon, professional drivers travelling along this vital logistics corridor will benefit from a new generation of Safe and Secure Parking Area (SSPA): Truck Parking Tortona, an ESPORG member currently under construction and scheduled to become one of the region’s most modern truck service facilities.
Developed by C.P.P. S.p.A., the project reflects a clear ambition: to combine security, comfort, sustainability and operational efficiency in a location where they matter most.
At the Heart of Europe’s Logistics Corridors
Situated only one kilometre from the Tortona motorway exit, the facility is positioned at the intersection of two major motorway routes: the A21 Turin–Piacenza and the A7 Milan–Genoa, providing direct access to Italy’s principal industrial and logistics regions. The site also sits opposite the rapidly expanding Tortona logistics district, one of Northern Italy’s fastest-growing distribution hubs.
Tortona has become an increasingly strategic logistics location thanks to its position on the European freight corridors linking the ports of Genoa and La Spezia with Milan, Turin and Northern Europe. Ongoing investments in intermodal infrastructure and logistics developments are further strengthening the area’s role within European supply chains. The location is highly strategic for national and international transport flows, especially between northern Italy, Milan, Genoa, Turin and Piacenza.
New service hub, not just a stop
The site will not only include a truck parking facility, but also a multi-service area and fuel station. Truck Parking Tortona has been designed as a complete service hub rather than simply a place to stop.

The main building is thoughtfully organised across levels: the ground floor houses the restaurant and shop; the underground level is dedicated to essential wellbeing services (showers, toilets, laundry and the gym/relaxation area). For the first floor of the building plans are also in place to develop 12 hotel rooms, subject to the necessary authorisations, providing an additional level of comfort for drivers requiring overnight accommodation.
Security Built to European Standards
Security remains at the core of the project, which is currently in an advanced stage of completion. As it moves from advanced construction to operational reality, Truck Parking Tortona is preparing to obtain DEKRA certification at EU Parking Standard Silver level, ensuring compliance with the European Commission’s legal requirements for Safe and Secure Parking Areas. The certification will provide transport companies, drivers, cargo owners and insurers with confidence that the facility meets recognised European security standards.
